a little throwback diy in celebration of two of the best soccer teams of germany BVB and FCB playing against each other in london at the moment.
y,z and i made this piñata originally for g's birthday. we filled it with athletic socks, some candy bars, gum, a whistle and green leftover paper easter-grass.
you need:
china ball - any size with the wire support when using as lamp
white school glue - thinned down with water ratio 2:1 [two parts glue :one water]
brush
white tissue paper ripped into strips
black construction paper
scissor
hanger [hang china ball on it to dry]
piece of carton to cover top and bottom openings
twine
rope
bat [wooden stick ]
set up the china ball and insert the wire support as if using it like a lamp.
brush glue on surface of china ball and paper mâché away with white tissue paper pieces
in between layers add cardboard to bottom of ball & top with a few layers [all in all about two to three layers
hang on hanger over night to dry ]
once dry - fill your piñata
take second round cardboard create a hole small / big enough to run a loop through to eventually hang pinata from
lastly take your "looped cardboard" lay it on top and paper mâché a few more layers over to create a thick sturdy top hang to dry
in meantime cut pentagons out of black construction paper
scatter pentagons on piñata
let dry again
hang up | have fun
