DIY dogtreat with options

preheat oven to 350 F [ 180C ]

you need:

2 cups of whole wheat flour* [ additional flour for rolling dough ]

1 cup rolled oats or oatmeal [ not instant ]

1/3 cup peanut butter

1 1/4 cups hot water [chicken or beef broth work well ]

1/2-1 cup of fresh chopped parsley or mint [for fresh breath and healthy tummy]

parchment paper for cookie sheet [or slightly grease cookie sheet]

* if your dog is sensitive to wheat you substitute with other flour

  1. mix all dry ingredients in a bowl

  2. mix in the peanut butter and hot water if dough is too sticky just add a little bit more flour

  3. knead the dough really well

  4. roll out dough on flat surface to desired thickness - 1/4" [ 5mm ] worked for me

  5. cut out cookies with cookie cutter

  6. bake for 40 minutes turn off oven and let them cool completely either in the oven over night or on wire rack

  • cookies store well in an airtight container for about a week

  • in fridge for 3 weeks

  • or freezer ca. 6 months
